How to become a pilot or add to your skills
Santa Cruz Flying Club has instructors to help you achieve your aviation goals. If you are just starting out simply give us a call or stop by and schedule your introductory flight lesson. Not only will you get to fly the plane but also get a chance to see Santa Cruz from the air and be able to discuss your aviation goals with one of our instructors.
Introductory flights are just $69 in a Cessna 150/152 and $75 in a Cessna 172, and are an excellent way to get started, or just a great way to see if learning to fly is something you would really like to do. Instead of just dreaming as you watch planes fly by take that first step, call 831-722-4580, and schedule your introductory flight!
Our FAA-certified flight instructors are approved to give training for the following ratings:
- Private
- Instrument
- Commercial
- CFI
- CFII
- Multi-Engine
- MEI
- Airline Transport Pilot
Ground school (textbook-based instruction) is offered on an as-needed basis for the Private, Instrument, and Multi-Engine ratings.
Flight instruction rates are $40-$60/hr.
Specialized Flight Instruction
SCFC has highly qualified instructors who are able to give training in specialized aircraft such as high-performance single and multi-engined aircraft, taildraggers, and aerobatic aircraft.
Simulator instruction is available on a PCATD for $35/hr.
