Excellent condition, painted in 2001. Interior is in good shape with a basic IFR setup: there's a loran, transponder, VOR receiver & EGT. There are dual brakes, vortex generators and gap seals.
THE 1973 CHEROKEE 140 (PA28-140) is being offered at blue book retail (per the AOPA online valuation), which is $22,500. This valuation takes into consideration the fact that the Cherokee is past the standard recommended TBO and is due for an engine overhaul. Our mechanic has assured us that the compression is still good on all cylinders.
All other inspections and checks are current and will be kept current. This plane has been a rental since September 2003 and has been subject to inspections every 100 hours during since that time.
The Cherokee is IFR certified and a very forgiving trainer for both private and instrument licensing. It's very economical to fly, and can land and take off on very short runways. I flew it cross-country to Pocatello, Idaho and back in October, 2005.
This plane would be a very good investment for someone learning to fly, and a cost savings compared to renting an airplane.
Please call Steve Henderson at 831-818-1488 for further information. This plane can be seen at the Santa Cruz Flying Club, 150 Aviation Way, Suite 6, Watsonville, CA 95076.
