Information About the Santa Cruz Flying Club

The Santa Cruz Flying Club (SCFC) is located at the Watsonville Airport, above Ocean Air Flight Services. We were formed by a group of flight instructors, aircraft owners, student and renter pilots at the Watsonville Airport eight years ago. We are here to provide affordable aircraft rental and professional flight training, in an informal, club-type atmosphere.

In the office is our flight simulator, a lending library of aviation books, videos, magazines and charts, and comfy facilities for planning a flight. Upstairs is a written test center.

Operating Hours

• Office: There are no set office hours, arrange meeting times with your instructor.
• Flying: aircraft available 24/7 via online scheduling

The office is generally not staffed except by arrangement with your flight instructor. To get further information, call our office at 831-722-4580. Membership Benefits

The benefits to joining the club are numerous… are you a student pilot? You will have at your fingertips many talented instructors, well maintained club aircraft, access to our library of books and videos, plus the chance to get to know other students who are working on the same rating you are.

Are you already certified pilot or working on an advanced rating? You’ll get all of the benefits listed above, plus 24 hour a day access to the aircraft via computer scheduling. Membership dues are $15.00/month.

Driving Directions

From the Bay Area:
Take Highway 17 South. At Santa Cruz, take 1 South. Exit at Airport Blvd. Two left turns will take you back over the freeway. The first left turn that does not go back onto the freeway is Aviation Blvd. The first left on Aviation is our parking lot. From the parking lot, facing the runway, head to the far left and watch for Ocean Air Flight Services. Look for our sign outside their front door. Our offices are located inside of Ocean Air on the second floor.

From Salinas, Monterey, or downtown Watsonville:
Take Highway 1 North. Exit at Airport Blvd. A right turn followed by a left turn will take you to Airport Blvd. The first left is Aviation Blvd. The first left on Aviation is our parking lot. From the parking lot, facing the runway, head to the far left and watch for Ocean Air Flight Services. Look for our sign outside their front door. Our offices are located inside of Ocean Air on the second floor.

From Morgan Hill or Gilroy:
Take Highway 152 East. At Holohan Rd., the first stoplight, which is down on the flats again after the Watsonville Speedway, turn right. Follow this past Freedom Blvd. On the right you will see a fire station, followed by a small National Guard station. Turn right immediately at the National Guard to join Aviation Blvd. You will pass the main terminal, with a flagpole, and United Flight on the right. The next right is our parking lot. From the parking lot, facing the runway, head to the far left and watch for Ocean Air Flight Services. Look for our sign outside their front door. Our offices are located inside of Ocean Air on the second floor.
