What are you waiting for:
Learn to Fly This Year!
Wanting to try something exciting and new? Why not join the Santa Cruz Flying Club and start living out those dreams of flying you’ve had for so long! You could earn your Private Pilot Certificate and experience the thrill and the freedom of piloting your own aircraft. Flying…many people dream of it, few people actually do it. Become one of the select few — Earn your wings this year at the Santa Cruz Flying Club.
So how do you get started?
It’s easier than you think! Simply call up the club at 831-722-4580 or just stop by the Watsonville Airport and meet our friendly staff and instructors.
For just $69 (Cessna 150/152) or $90 (Cessna 172) you can have your very first introductory flying lesson. On that very first flight you will be in the pilots seat, and with the close watch of a professional flight instructor you will be on the controls actually flying the aircraft!
At the end of your first flying lesson you’ll get a chance to talk to the instructors about what your goals are, how quickly you want to complete your flight training, and what flying lessons involve regarding time and expense.
Even if you don’t think you want to go all the way to getting a Private Pilot’s Certificate take us up on our offer of a discounted intro flight and see what it’s all about. Introductory flights and gift certificates also make great gifts!
Specialized Flight Instruction
Santa Cruz Flying Club has highly qualified flight instructors who are able to give training in specialized aircraft such as high-performance single and multi-engine aircraft, taildraggers, helicopters and aerobatic aircraft.
Plus you can get your instrument, commercial or flight instructor ratings. Join with other students working on the same ratings and study together to speed the learning process.
Flight simulator instruction is available on a PCATD for $35/hr.
Aircraft Rental
If you are already a pilot and just want to have 24/7 access to our aircraft, we do that too! SCFC has several aircraft available for rental, and typically you just need to do an aircraft checkout with one of our flight instructors, join the club, and you’re free to use our facilities and aircraft. We currently have a Cessna 172 and a Cessna 150, and we are always interested in growing our fleet of aircraft. If you are an aircraft owner, or think you want to become and aircraft owner, and want to talk about what it takes to lease your airplane back to the club, please give us a call, we’d love to tell you all about it!
